When I was 18 years old (over 25 years ago!…) I knew that I wanted to work with children. So I became a nanny after completing my Child care Diploma. But I also realised that I was deeply drawn to art also and then went on to complete a BA Hons. I also discovered yoga in my early 20’s and immediately saw how the practice “on the mat” changed me from inside, and to a more grounded and content me “off the mat” and out in the real world throughout my daily life, and I am now an adult and children’s yoga instructor. A few years down the line I now have two children of my own and see myself in them as they step into each day with questions and excitement about life. After working with children for over 20 years, I now integrate my experience and background to deliver workshops that can support and guide children through the experience of Life assisting in awakening their full potential to happy beings and to be in tune to being kind to self, others and our environment. The tools I equip children who I work with include understanding the different ways in which we learn, and that we are all indeed different. Them knowing that what works for another person, may not work for them, and that that is absolutely perfect. Through guided exercises we teach how to accept ourselves and get through these daily challenges of thought and emotion, through creative play, yoga and mindfulness to give our children of today the stability, grounding and love to step into tomorrow. On a day off you will find me, walking barefoot, cuddling with my kitten, playing with my children, drinking tea and surrounding myself with people who I love and care for me, and getting excited with Amanda about another activity to do with the children:-)
After many years of wanting to work with children, I made the jump to leave my receptionist role and, 5 years later, I now work with Turkish children in my local area of Maidenhead. Helping students whose first language is not English is extremely rewarding and seeing their confidence grow is a delight to watch unfold. I truly believe that combining learning with play can have a huge impact on a young child’s education. I feel not only like a Teacher to them but also a big sister, whom they know they can always approach. Some of them even call me ‘Big Sis’ and I love it! As a child, I was extremely shy and struggled to approach others. Having overcome my shy-ness as an adult, I aim to be the guiding ‘big sis’ for others, to help overcome any social anxiety or worries. In the last few years, only a few doors down from my home, myself, Joel and Daniela met. From this encounter a friendship blossomed between like-minded individuals and last year we made the decision to join forces! We are excited to present 'Humble Bee', which combines all of our experiences, expertise and ethos. In my spare time, you will find me experimenting with new art techniques, playing guitar, fishing and relaxing in a cafe.
My name is Joel, I am a practising Astrologer with over 15 years of experience. My passion for helping others learn about themselves has developed into Humble Bee. It is important for the younger ones amongst us to discover their natural talents and to help strengthen innate abilities to manage life in the best way they can. The benefits of studying nature and to have a healthy philosophy to life will help them achieve an ability for much needed creative problem solving. In my spare time I like being in nature and focusing on craftwork projects. I love cooking, animals and spending time with family and friends.
